than I have been in a long time. This summer, while not everything I was hoping it to be, is in some ways a whole lot more. It’s amazing what happens to one’s perspective on life once you quit dwelling on what you don’t have and focus on what you do- how incredibly blessed you are. Towards the beginning of the summer I was so caught up in everything that was going wrong that I wasn’t able to recognize that I have an incredible family and amazing friends standing behind me; and also many opportunities to which I haven’t even considered opening the door to yet. Things will go as planned but they will also go wrong- it’s just realizing that when they do go wrong, there is generally a decent reason for why they did.
summer days.
I’m surprised at how much I have grown to love running. I used to hate it and would much rather have preferred being in a pool swimming laps. Now, it is one of the things that I look forward to most; that and going riding. Everything that has been on my mind that day is left behind and it is suddenly just me and my music. (You see, that’s one of the benefits of running over swimming: you can’t exactly bring your iPod into a pool with you!) Plus, just like riding and swimming it gives me something to work toward. An overall goal that I can always push further and improve upon. And the challenge? Well, that’s just part of what makes it exciting.
